well, iam glad u asked as this was getting more and more pointless
and i still dont understand why i was posting

well here in india we dont pay much attension to sports our parents force us to study much of the time(atleast my paernts) our school timings are very short like from 9 to 4
and we usually had to goto tutions after that instead of playing in the park (rant rant)
some of the schools here in india end when the guy comes to 15 years (i left my school at 15)
and some schools at 17(actually it is not schools it is the controling authority which desides)
so after school we are usually given a choice of subjects like mpc , bipc, or commerce(mpc - maths,physics, chemistry, bipc - biology, physics , chemistry)
i took mpc so this year i will join a engg college

all in all i hate india for many reasons and i even love it for many reasons
here we usually get double degrees like a engneering degree + a managment degree or a engneering degree + plus some commerece degree
iam planing on completing my engg and joining some university there in usa just to add to the job value

Do you intend to stay in India after graduating or look elsewhere for work?

well that depends on what engg college i get into here and what grades i get there and what branch of engg i get here

if i get into IIT here i need not have to bother about my life as it is world's second best engg college
if i get into national institute of technologies or university engg colleges

i might have to get a second degree

Many Indians are too concerned with grades. They're important for determining the college you go to, and jobs after that, but they don't determine worth of a person.

I consider myself American because I was born here, but my parents are Indian and so are all my extended family. A couple of my cousins and my aunt are rich and really arrogant about going to a good school, having a good job, and making money. Having those things don't make your life good and abundant, though.

Don't get me wrong, though, nothing wrong with having money and a good education (having a degree from a particular institution does not necessarily = a good education, but that's a subject for another thread), it's how you use it that is important.

Many Indians are too concerned with grades. They're important for determining the college you go to, and jobs after that, but they don't determine worth of a person.

well many of my family members have good degrees and stuff so iam like in pressure now if i dont make it into some good college i will surely become an example "of what happens when u dont listen to parents " so i need to get good grades
and besides admissions here are on the basis of entrance tests the institutions conduct
getting grades is way easier people in my class usually get a+(nearly 97%) in all the exams
but the same guys dont even make it to nice engg colleges

life there in america is easy the grade exams are not rigged so if u get good grades u get a seat in some nice college

but everytime i give a exam i atleast have 2 ~ 3 well wishers asking me how it went so thats what is making my life stink and put me under pressure
