Hmm, it's definitely complained about mine when it's been a mere single character over 255. :frown:

How do you guys do it? ;)

I was about to post, saying long sigs suck, then I realized my sig had grown pretty big as well.
But I trimmed it a bit, and now it's not too bad, so...
Long sigs suck! :p

I think the limit should be more like 64 chars or something.
It's friggin annoying when people list their entire rigs in the sig, making the sig twice the size of the post in more than 50% of the posts.

Is my sig Ok? It looks long, but it's actually not :)

It would be nice if the profile editor showed the length of the signature...

not including spaces.

A space is a character, though. If they didn't count white space you could just have a sig like:

t h i s s i g i s s o l o n g i c a n j u s t g o o n f o r e v e r

I hope you're joking. If not, then "fvck no!" Not unless that does not count URLs in links. With some links, though the text may be short, the URL is extremely long. If what you are suggesting were implemented, I couldn't even have a single link in my .sig. Disgusting. :frown:

Ok, not counting HTML(or Fusetalk code), but rather the visible sig.

Like I said, some people, actually lots of people, have ridiculously long sigs, and wading through all that gets extremely annoying.
Pepsi's sig is a good example, but there are far longer sigs out there.

A sig isn't meant to tell people the story of your life like some people seem to think.

Why should subscribers be allowed to terrorize the nonsubscribers with even longer sigs?
It's bad enough as it is.
"sig" = "signature", not "the names of my family and pets, my computer specs, and a palm by Frost".

Zuni, sounds like a kickass feature, yay! :)

We could just limit them to what email signatures are limited to, 72 chars wide and 5 lines or so max (and no html!). Then again that's just the "old school" standard or whatever, I was horrified at the first email I got from a coworker, a 10 line sig! :Q :D :p

Yeah tell me about it.

Bunch of people at work have absolutely humongeous sigs.
Name
Company
Crapload of phone numbers, addresses, etc etc
Cute little logotype
15 line disclaimer that noone will ever read anyway.

All in all probably 30+ lines in the worst cases.
Anyone know how to setup Outlook 2000 to only display mails as plain text, that way at least I could get rid of the cute logos and some useless formatting

Long sigs are pointless, and simply eat up space.
You gotta be some sort of UBER NERD to care about someones iWill Blah blah with a 2.4 GHz blah blah, this much RAM and a big fat Hard Drive.
Ooooh I just drooled into my pocket protector and steamed up my Coke bottle glasses.
If I see one more sig with a Radeon 9700 Pro I'm gonna burst my zipper for sure!
I nearly gacked up my Pop Tarts when I read that guy had a 22" Flat Panel.
Really guys, who cares?
Just my rant for the day.

I enjoy viewing the rig pages of some users. But I do hate it in the sigs.

I should look at my email sig at work... It is a little long :p
