DP1 First Impressions
DP1 Battery Test
DP1 Mixed Light

These are all from a photographer's blog; he was shooting the SD14 before, so I'm guessing he got some kind of 'hookup' from Sigma to get a production DP1 much earlier than anyone else. I really like the high ISO B&W shots; that is something I'm experimenting with myself with my Nikon DSLR. High ISO on digital B&W produces some great 'film grain' effects.

want film grain and interchangeable lenses? then get a D2H(s). a D2H is about equal to the best film there was before digital happened. of course that pales in comparison to the D3, but that's what five years between major product refreshes buys you in the technology field.

Yes, $799.

Has the potential to be a 'classic' P&S digicam like the Canon G9.

even being 5 years olf the D2h is still capable of incrediable things, the only issue with it is hoe unforgiving it is to under/overexopsure,

to be fair, you can't exactly fit one in your pocket, or be unobtrusive.

Unless you shop at Lane Bryant, the E-420 isn't fitting into anything but a large coat pocket.

where'd you get that pricing from? This would have been far better if they could have slapped an f/2 lens at that price, or at least f/2.8. Blasted niche products... why must I want them, ha.

i was reading through a pretty technical discussion on fm about the speed of the lens. basically, it'd be almost impossible to fit a faster lens to the camera and maintain compact dimensions. read rob riley's post at 3:14 AM on feb 13

anyway, it's $800 at amazon last i looked.

interesting. much way over my head.. haha. It's just a hard price to swallow to have that portability. But at the same point, it really has no competition. The Oly E420 doesn't count, no where near as portable (for how I want to use it).

an olympus stylus epic with a 4000 dpi scanner works pretty well :)
