The problem with going into a person's past is you see what they felt at the time. In most cases, it really wasn't all that bad, they thought they were good looking/fun, and they had more sex than lead onto later.
Whenever I was asked did I love someone or did I like the sex, I would ask them what do they want to hear. Do they want to here that I always hated sex before meeting them? then the answer would be no. Did I ever love someone else? then yes....however I am with them now by choice, not because I have to be. I don't dwell on the past and don't think about exes.
It's usually a road you don't want to go down because you will not find the answers you hope for.
