oh man, totally not cool about the turtle. Who the hell steals a turtle??

BUt hey,
Keep us posted on the 300zx. i think it would be epic to have a resto/mod thread going about this, given the history and meaning behind this car. Dont give up on it.

Thanks guys, the more I think about this, the more I know I want A 300ZX TT to be my toy. I just have to figure out WHICH one that is going to be. I still remember walking in to the local Nissan dealership with my Dad when we bought a 1990 Pathfinder (which we held on to until 2004 and finally sold to a relative who had been begging for it for years for turkey hunting after a reliable 350,000 miles) and just making a beeline to the Z in the showroom. My Dad is a total gearhead and I'm sure he was beaming when his 6 year old son was drooling all over the shiny new sports car. I remeber him looking down and telling me when I was old enough one of those would be mine. Surely enough, when I was getting old enough to drive we bought ours and its been one of the threads that has kept us so close. I know it's stupid to get so emotionally attached to physical things, but the memories of this one just run too deep.

Edit: Oh and I guess this explains my username, not a fanboi or anything. I wish we had a reddit like system where I could just tell everyone to tag me as Anthony, usernames just feel so distant.

Well to be honest, if I could find a shop that I could drop my Z off, schedule for delivery on a front clip and say "Do it right, but you can take through next summer if you need to" I'd most likely do it. My life as a biochemist doesn't really leave me with anywhere near the time this project would require and I wouldn;t want to put that all on my Dad's shoulders either (which he wouldn't have the time single-handedly either)

The pond setup (not actually a dug out pond in the ground, but a pound liner with an enclosure for the pumps/filters built around it) was on the back deck, but under a small roof that extended far enough in every direction that I doubt a hawk would be able to notice. That and I've never really seen any hawks down in the suburbs here, it just seems to developed/busy to chalk it up to nature.

Well, from the look of the work manimal does in his shop, I'd be inclined to get a trailer and drive the 5 hours to get it there. Seems like he does great work, and as already mentioned, has lots of parts to work with.

Not my car though, nor my time, but if it were me, I'd give it some consideration.

I was just about to suggest this. not to mention he is familar with the 300ZX as he has just done one of his own! and you really arnt far from him and you know youll get a quality job done. not to mention im sure he would like to see the car come back to life! instead of heading to the scrap heap!
