It's not like the earth has ever gone through any type of mass extinctions or anything along those lines......and I'm going to go out on a limb and say that climate change in the past did dramatically alter the surface of the planet with higher/lower coastlines, higher/lower temperatures....your point makes no sense - it's like saying an Ice Age starting tomorrow would be nothing to worry about - since there have been ice ages previously but the world is still here.

Yes, the planet's climate seems to have natural cycles - the entire point is that man's CO2 creation is not at all a 'normal' event, and we need to understand what the implications are.
