Kinda expensive too. We're staying under $10,000 cause we'd rather have the money to send our kids to private school than a fancy car. Nearly impossible to find a used Honda Odyssey for even close to $10,000.

At my local dodge dealer for labor day weekend they will have a promo where salespeople will get quad points for every minivan they sell, and they will also be discounting 2005 models, so getting a minivan in the 8K-9K price range won't be too hard.
As for haggling, find a black guy, yeah i know it may sound racist, but white used car salespeople are assholes, black used car salesmen, well, they are awesome and they seem to be able to barter back and forth a lot more than their white counterparts. The last black guy i delt with got me 2K under KBB on a used car /w warrenty, thats friggin amazing at a dealer (this was at a ford dealership). A white guy, not a block away, on a very similar car with LESS options, wouldn't even break 500 under.

Good advice. Thanks.

We had a 67 coupe for years. Brought our first child home from the hospital in it. Hell, I had to sew up the cloth end of the passenger seatbelt first so the latch wouldn't slide off.

We sold it this past Spring to a guy who wants to fix it up for his son. It needed a lot of work but it still hurt watching it go bye-bye :(
Got a nice chunk of change for it though :D

Growing up, I had a family of 5. We always had one van (for family use/trips) and one sedan (general around town use). That's what we are working towards now. We're going to get the minivan for now and when we get it paid off replace the Pathfinder with a sedan.

Oh, and I probably spend less on gas with the Pathfinder than most of you anyways since I work from home most of the time. :p LOL

We have a sedan for my wife and one for me (3 kids), and a conversion van when extra space is needed (and a sports car, a truck, a motorcycle, and 2 boats, but that's a different conversation).

But yeah, trying to haul the kids around in a sports car is a PITA. My two oldest shed tears when we told them we were selling it.

When my wife and I had our baby, I traded my Mustang Cobra Convertible in. It was a sad day.

But, I traded it in for an Infiniti FX35, and driving this baby has been fun.

Sure beats a minivan.
