Well, I'm a bit confused. You seem to be claiming that Gmail is unreliable, and that it's down. However, most people here seem to have very little problem with it, and have a hard time remembering it being down.

Apparently, you seem to think it's extremely unreliable, but you seem to be the only one who thinks that.

Can you clarify a bit more?

Well said, exactly why OP is a flaming bag of numbnuts.

Yes. a lot of that is the source IP and where I'm directed to. It's not a l3/4 problem, but l7 one.

It also has to do with the L7 switches reducing the load when they need to and presenting an error message to the constant poundings by me...so I'm penalized.

reliable means the client should alway reach the service. no matter what.

Well, I'm not an expert on what sort of hardware they are using or what is causing your problem exactly, but it seems like you have different demands of your email than others. If Gmail is not fufilling them, then maybe you should look into getting a email service that better suits you.

it's beta, so they can practically get away with anything. Sure their reputation will suffer, but in the end, you agreed to it and all its faults.

sucks but ce la vie in web 2.0

It's geographic then. and yet again points to their poor infrastructure for gmail.

-edit- I get http response up to L7. but it's error message.

bad design, IMHO.
