Don't feel bad, I got my license when I was 20 because I was too cheap to pay for the insurance (and I needed proof of age for when I turned 21). I was 4 months shy of 22 when I got my first car. Now I'm 28 and am on my third new car. :D

get your degree and find a decent job.
you'll be driving a nice car in no time.

as to lottery, you deserve it, it's just not your turn yet.
based on probability, i could be a winner before year 10,000,000 :)

At least you haven't sunk a few thousand into a car like I have. I bought a '93 geo storm about 3 years ago. It's a nice looking car, but it's made like a piece of sh!t. Replaced both CV joints, 3 alternators(probably my 1000 watt amp's fault), 2 radiators, an engine, a few battery's(again my amp's fault), and now the transmission is leaking bad.

Damn piece of crap, i'm currently trying to find a camaro or mustang to buy. Hopefully i'll find one that's up to my standards(v8 and a manual is all i want). Only found 2 so far, and they were driven pretty hard.....screw all you people who buy slushboxes. :)

<< Just remember, shallow guys pick up shallow women. >>

<< What vi said - shallow guys pick up shallow women. And it's just transportation anyway - get you from point a to point b. You shouldn't let someone judge you based on what you drive >>

Riiight, and when you guys see a chick dressed like a whore, all of you think, "oh what a sweet virginal thing, I wonder where she went to college."

I don't think women deserve automatic minus points for not liking guys who drive ultra crappy cars. Now if she expects a porsche or something, that's another situation. But if she stays with you even if you drive a yugo, she's a keeper ;)

I sort of have a car... It's a lovely '82 Olds Delta 88, in a beautiful handicap blue, with a leaking tranny, and it drinks oil, and the water pump just died, some arsehole ran into it in a parking lot so now it has a dent the size of an inflatable swimming pool in the rear driver's side door. Anyone interested in buying?

i have a nice truck, its a 95' chevy silverado with 122k on it. Mint condition. At my school, you have to have a halfway decent car just to fit in really. I think the average car at my school is worth more than $20k. Mine has a bluebook value of about 10k, i think.

i guess i should consider myself lucky. I did pay for half of my car, however, so you have to give me some credit.

One thing that always irritates me is to see these young kids in these nice new cars that mom & dad bought. I had to sport around in an old 1967 Buick Special! Whoo Hoo, the boat. I always had enough room for everyone..ugh. I had to save my money to buy what I wanted. Noone ws going to do it for me. And, quite honestly, it ended up meaning more to me. "Yep, bought it with my own money"! This meant more to others than knowing it was bought 'for me'. Relax, there is plenty of time to purchase a nice car. Meanwhile, be nice, dress nice, have respect, and take it one day at a time.

I don't care what kind of car a guy drives. Heck, even having a car is a plus. I'd rather my guy spends his money buying me shiny things than on a car. :p

(Shiny things? Tin foil counts.)

Edit: Preferably there's a chocolate bar inside the tin foil.

My problem is I'm 17 years old and I drive a brand new 2000 Honda Civic. They all think that "mommy and daddy" bought it for me. Which isn't true.

I think that as long as you're "proud" of the car you own, whats the shame in driving what you've got? BTW, I like those old MX6's. Especially the ones that had turbo's in em, they can go pretty good.

I love those old camaro's. The styling was kinda different from the typical 80's box car look they had.

The only car you will be happy with is something you paid for. Most people get new cars because they don't like the one they are driving. Even people that have fancy cars complain they want something better. Personaly I love my truck. But that doesn't mean I want other cars. :p We all want something else we don't have. ;)

My friend had an old 1980 Mustang POS that I was scared to ride in. Whenever we went somewhere I'd always drive in my truck (nissan frontier, not the new one though) cause it's not a bad ride at all. We couldn't even ride on the freeway in his mustang because I swear if we went over 55, bolts and stuff would start falling off. It finally died a few months ago and now he always drives in his not to shabby saturn.
