Sigh.. Clarify this for a friend of mine - Capacitor values

I've been arguing for about half an hour now. 😀

What is uf, MFD, pf, PRONUNCIATION, and what are the values you use to convert uf to pf, etc?

I know, but he keeps trying to tell me different. He is way off base. For example, he keeps saying "fear-red" instead of "fair-red", the way I say it. Where he is getting an "E", I have no idea. 😛

right the microfarad is the greek letter mu then f, similar to uf except the u should be a mu...anyway.


everyone I know says it like "faired" its named after michael faraday. So if he would call the man fearaday I think he'd also call corn, karn. 😀 If that makes any sense 😉
