I have friends that work on the project and they've discovered what can best be described as an unknown crystal. They've nicknamed it Dilithium kinda as a joke but we won't know what this substance is for probably decades since they need to actually bring it back. The entire mission is really just trying to determine if this is really a new and unknown crystal, how much of this substance exists, and how it formed.

Oh and they've also found Aliens.

I think finding any kind of evidence of organic matter, even a simple string of nucleic acids (not likely), would be a big middle finger to the religions of the world.

Most religions have shown themselves to be extremely resilient against reality. This would be no different. At best, there would be a retcon of what the holy texts really "mean" as they've already done several times.

It would make no difference at all and could easily be explained even using the Bible..... this is a non issue!
