That router has the slowest printer server known to man, has anyone found a way to speed it up?

For those of you who don't know how OfficeDepot/OfficeMax (and others) work.. They require your zip code to see if the item is in stock at a local store. If it is then you can order online and it will be shipped (actually many times they don't ship it, their employees deliver it in a store truck) from a local store. If no local store has them then they will say it is out of stock. Just because it's out of stock for you does NOT mean that every other zip code in the entire country will be out of stock too so please don't say it's a dead deal because your local stores are out.

How does the print server work?
Is there a parallel port or USB port for printers on this thing?

Funny you should say that.. I tried calling my local store and they DID have it in stock. So your statement is not necessarily true. I manage to get the floor manager to honor the coupon. Pretty cool of him.

Just put this through, looked for the code, found it, went back, tried to order, now it says "this product is not available online"...argh.

Might try it again to see if it comes back, but i think it's gone.

Ok, i got it. Went back with a different browser, and it showed in stock, went back with opera again, and it shows out of stock. They must use cookies to keep you from buying more than one at a time, which seems kind of pointless to me, but i cant think of any other reason for it.

Used clipboard and thumbtacks as fillers. Made me go back and fill everything out again after putting in my coupon code, but eventually worked. Arrives Monday.

-Dave.

Yeah, just hook it up to one of the lan ports on your router.

You'll probably have to disable DHCP too. Your current firewall/router is probably already providing the service.

You don't have to but yeah, it'll be redundant. I used to use my SMC 7004AWBR that way cause it was too unstable to use as a router.
