PM it at Staples (some have it for $59, the Fenway one in Boston being one of them, so you won't even have to PM) and use a printabe $10 off $40 coupon from "Hugh Jass wallet" forums to get it for $50. I have this phone BTW, it's not too shabby.

I have this phone...it's TERRIBLE. It cuts in and out, sometimes the keypad becomes hard to use (the fix is to remove the batteries and reinstert them...it's a known problem with the phone), the range stinks, and if anyone within 200 ft of you turns on their microwave your call will be dropped. Worst phone I've ever owned. :(

As much as like the phone in terms of it's physical design, I'd have to agree with Fritzo and Luden. I still use mine and it isn't too bad once you get used to it (you kind of have to after you spend $150 on it - right?). The buttons are a pain to use since they don't always register when you dial quickly, and the microwave thing is true sometimes (it doesn't happen to me anymore, but it has happened to me before). I could be a lot happier, especially for the money. Try the newer Siemens model, they should be better. Siemens makes some really good cell phones and the design of these phones borrows a lot from their cell phones, so maybe their newer phones have gotten it right.

BTW: Fritzo, do you know if you can skip messages while listening to them? I hate to have to listen to all my my messages just to listen to the last one again. Thanks!

I have a Siemns 2.4GHZ new for $8 after all kinds of coupon and rebate. Exchanged a couple of time with Siemns and finally give it up. The quality of the phone is ridiculous even for a $8 phone.
in addition, I would not recommend VTECH either. I owned various kinds of VTECH phones during the past several years (all of them free after rebate, coupon and PM). some of them were supposed to be really expensive models. I ended up selling or returning all of them. They are just too bad. I had an AT&T, which is really good. But now AT&T phones are rebadged VTECH and I was forced to return a new model due to quality issues.
I would from now on stick to Panasonic or Uniden

If you realy want this phone they have it in white for $49.

I seriously wonder why people recommend a phone sold on Amazon with a average rating of 2.5 out 5 from 106 individuals.

BTW. 1 out 5 is the lowest. you can not give anything below it to express your anger toward the product

Staples now has this phone or $39.99. No Rebate. I have had this phone for over two years and I have been very happy with it. My system consists of four cordless handsets in a 4 1/2 story town house. I have a Microwave and 802.11b (same frequency as phones) and everything works great. Amazon.com has refurb handsets for $60 if you need additional handsets.

Stick with the basic Siemens model 242 and you'll be pleased.
Does everyone hate that Amazon hidden price thing (why we can't show you price) or is it just me?)

i have to say i had an older model (2400 with two extra handsets) and hated the beast. got the 4015 (i think) and it fixes ALL the problems i used to have, even works with my fax unlike previous one. got them on a good deal, but mainly saying this to defend Siemens' newer models.
