If anyone can burn me a copy of the software and mail it to me, I will appretiate it alot. PM me if you could.
Thanks🙂

compusa seriously has product allocation problems, the store i went to tonight has 39 of them in stock, but the town has a population of only 50,000.

this was difficult to find in NYC today, so i searched the web and found it for 30.70 after shipping at the gateway accessory store

I read the fine print of the 30 dollar MS rebate.. and if you buy it from here, i think it should work? If someone else gave their opinion, i'd appreciate it.

$30 Rebate is a Microsoft manufacturer rebate and is valid with a purchase through any Microsoft reseller including the Gateway Acces Store/NECX.

I got one of these yesterday. Tried to set it up to play UT and it is funky but I think I could get used to it. I know that it is supposed to be for RTS games and I have AOE and EE so I can use it for that too.

One thing to note is that I have Win98 and in order to get the drivers to install correctly, I had to copy the file from the CD (I think it is in the setupdir\win98 directory) to my hard drive and then rename the file from .in_ to .inf. Pretty crappy install but once I got the drivers installed, it worked fine.

They say in stock near my store half a mile down the road. I'm gonna have to check it out for the cost of tax and a stamp.

Sold out on Compusa's site now.. 🙁
Guess I'll have to make a trip and hope they have some, my Compusa is always "out of stock" of everything on sale.

You may be able to make some money off this still....

Buy.com has this for $20.95.

Use AMEX Blue (if you already bought it w/AMEX Blue) to pricematch it from $29.99 to $20.95.

Or buy from Buy.com and use MS Rebate form (is not store specific) for $30 rebate.

Also..can pricematch Nostromo with Buy.com, if you bought w/Blue....$29.99 to $22.95.

I ran out and purchased one at my local CompUSA during lunch. There were 6 left in stock when I left.

The PDF rebate has been taken off the CompUSA web site, but I have it if someone wants to host it. The offer expires March 31 (CompUSA's site claims March 9). I called the MS rebate center and they said a printout of the PDF counts as an original coupon.

Microsoft isn't finicky with rebate coupons in my experience. About a year ago I bought the MS Sidewinder Freestyle. MS had a rebate going on for it at the time but my Sidewinder Freestyle didn't come with the coupon inside the box. I called their rebate # and was told to submit my mailing info on a regular 3" x 5" index card. I got my rebate promptly like all my other past MS rebates.

Eugaet - didn't they raise the price of the Sidewinder back up? There was orig. a $20 discount last week. Did you pay $29.99 or $49.99?

This link, as well as the one at the CompUSA site are for the MS Sidewinder Force Feedback Wheel. Does anyone have a link to the Strategic commander .PDF?

It looks like CompUSA has a bad link and I can't find the form in-store or on MS's site.

EDIT: Ok, link is fixed but it's only US$20/$30 Canadian. Leave it to CompUSA to charge you in US$ and give you a rebate(andswitch) in CAN$.
