Sidewinder Precision 2 problem (?)

Hi, I've just gotten a Precision 2 and I'm enjoying it, except that the joystick seems to have about 1/2-3/4" play in it on both axes. Is this normal? I do find it a bit irritating and if there is any way to tighten it up I would like to do so. It is supposed to be 'Precision', after all.

C'mon, this one's easy. All I need is for somebody who owns this joystick to tell me whether or not theirs is loose.
 
My MS Precision 2 has about about 1/4" of play. My guess is that it could be tightened up. Seven screws hold the bottom plate on. There is no screw under the rubber pad located directly under button 7. Hope this helps.
