At Buy.com:
$40.94 - Sidewinder Freestyle Pro
$14.93 - LinkSys PCI 10/100 Network card
-------
$55.87 subtotal
-$10.00 find yourself a buy.com coupon for $10 off a $30 purchase
-------
$45.87 subtotal

If you then add something else (like Kensington anti-static cleaner for $4.95) to put the total back over $50, you'll get the free shipping deal:
$45.87 subtotal
+ $4.95 Kensington anti-static cleaner
-------
$50.82 total

Now you get the free shipping deal! (hurry, ends wednesday) Plus, there's a $30 mail-in rebate to Microsoft for the Freestyle controller, and a $10 mail-in rebate to LinkSys for the NIC:
$50.82 total
-$30.00 Freestyle m.i.r.
-$10.00 LinkSys NIC m.i.r.
-------
$10.82 FINAL COST AFTER REBATES! That's a good deal in my book!

Your deal calculation is horrible! You obviously forgot the 66 cents in "shipping." And that doesn't even include the envelopes! Sorry, I just didn't want IronTek to feel to bad after missing the free shipping part of your post.

Also, you could just get the freestyle controller for like 4 bucks shipped just with the $10 coupon... a pretty good deal if you play pc games bettered by controllers (sports, motorcross madness, some other game that I've never played, etc). Heck, I could get 30 bucks back if I payed with my pointclick account :)

sweetca, the rebate form should be in the box. However, if it's not, here's what they're saying over at tech bargains dot com:

>>>>>>>
Some people did not get a coupon. Microsoft accepts the following: On a 3x5 index card. First line, write product name. Second line, write 497-00-664. Third line, write NO COUPON IN BOX. Lower left hand corner, write your information, name, address, phone# and e-mail address. Lower right hand corner, write where you purchased from. Send with receipt and original barcode from the box to: Microsoft SideWinder Freestyle Pro
Promotion 497-00-664
P.O. Box 1128
Ridgely, MD 21681
Update: A reader suggest including the entire boxtop not just UPC
<<<<<<<<

hope this helps

Thanks for the rebate information hudster. I was getting very worried when both Freestyles from buy.com showed up without rebate forms. BTW, I love the Freestyle Pro, it's a great joystick/gamepad combination for somewhat cramped college desks. I got a second one as a replacement because the first one required quite a bit of pressure to get the right-direction to register on the computer. I also noticed that the directional pad is a bit quirky (there's a patch from Microsoft that partially fixes these issues, but not completely). Nevertheless, I'm happy with the product.

This pad sucks, I payed $15 for it when i saw it laying on the counter as an open box buy. the directional movements suck. The original still rules.
