Sideband addressing?

What is Sideband addressing? I noticed it was enabled on my MSI G4 4600. Does it improve or impede preformance?

With sideband addressing enabled AGP utilized 8 extra "sideband lines" to issue addresses and requests simultaneously while data continues to move from previous requests on the main 32 data/address wires.

In theory it should provide a small performance boost, in reality it seldom has any effect at all and occasionally has a negative impact upon stability and potential overclockability.

Under the MSI Tabs, SBA is checked but it will not let me un-check it. Anyone know why?
