I have a Antec case that has the clear side panel and takes a fan, this sits right over the top of the video cards. Do I want this fan to blow out of the case or blow in?

Thanks.

If i was going to mod my case, and i'm planning on going SLI in the future.

I know for a damn fact that my videocards are going to be much, much hotter than my processer.
Is it reasonable to put a 120mm fan on the side of the case, and would it be a good idea to put it into the low corner, blowing directly onto the videocards? (I also have an intake in the front, but it has to make it past both of my harddrives)

My Antec 1080 amg is setup like yours, 2 front fans in, 2 rear fans out and side fan blowing in on my vid card (also hits the northbridge and memoey)

Thats the case I have too.

Is there a better option to cool the video cards?

I have 2-BFG 6800GT's, idle they are at around 63C-65C primary and 58C secondary.

I would think they need to be somewhat cooler.

Side and front fans should almost always blow in, while top and rear fans should blow out.

Also, i dont know if it's a good idea or not, but i've seen people put a slot cooler below their first video card, and some even out one below their secondary card.

I have mine set up a bit differently for my 1000AMG... I have the two fans in front blowing in. Then I have the side blowing in on the video card. I use the XP-120, so it sits pretty close to the glass, and is spread out over a large area. I have the lower rear fan blowing in, and the upper rear fan blowing out. I then put a piece of paper (folded) between the two rear fans and over the top side of the XP-120 to 'duct' the air. That way the lower rear fan and side fan blow air into the case, and sort of at the CPU hs/fan. Using this method, I went from 30C to 28C for my CPU temp and the case temp stayed the same at 30C idle. so the CPU is actually cooler than the case temp, and with VERY LITTLE modifications (a piece of folded paper, actually an old bill that I had laying around.)
