Side effect of anestesia?

It's within the realm of possibility. Not very common, but it happens.

A side effect of some kinds of anaesthesia is a mind blowing migraine. Remedied by caffeine of all things.

No the surgery will require to tight one of my eye muscle and on the other side i will be require to let loose the other eye muscle, to place back the eye in the centre position, because i am currently suffering from having a eye that is not in the centre position.

The operation will require me to be asleep, because they will need to pop out one of my eye to do the surgery!!! 🙁

1.44% of complications of anaesthesia resulted in death in the US 2000-2002 (Patient Safety in American Hospitals, Health Grades 2004)

I think I'd be more worried about the surgeon and a nurse getting it on while working on you.

Stop playing with me please, can we die of anestesia??? % chance??

Yes - most common cause is alergic reaction.
2nd would be O2 saturation or somebody not paying attention.

You're life is literally in their hands.

If it makes you feel any better mom was an anesthesiologist (sp?) and never lost a patient in 30 years of service.

Having abysmally low BP and heart rate can cause troubles too. Such as inadvertently putting you to sleep. Permanently.

Aye in reality, not kidding around anymore, the risks are high but the amount of complications are rare.

The 2 most common things that I know of that cause complications are Allergies and reactions with medication that people are taking.

I believe anti-depressents are one of the most dangerous things when mixed with certain anesthetics.

This site has some good information on it.

Risks: The following are risks that may happen with with general anesthesia. Caregivers will watch you closely and treat any problems. Some surgeries cannot be done at all if you choose not to have anesthesia. Call your caregiver if you are worried or have questions about your care. The following are some of the risks with general anesthesia.

* You could have a bad reaction to the medicine.

* You could feel sick to your stomach after surgery.

* It may take awhile for the medicine to wear off.

* You may have a sore throat after general anesthesia. Ask your caregiver about using throat lozenges or gargle with warm salt water. The sore throat is usually gone in 1 to 2 days.

* You could have a seizure or heart attack.

* Your temperature could go very high and you might die.

* Your thinking may be unclear. Do not make important decisions for 24 hours after having general anesthesia.

Oh incase you were worried I was joking with my previous posts, but the risks are very real.
