WTF is this?

Why would I put my money in such a place. I know nothing about it.

Thanks but I will stick to my local bank that has a long history of good business and plenty of people I can actually talk to with good experience.

Still better than being with big banks though. I would recommend ANYONE to stay away from big 4 (Chase, BOA, Citi, Wells). I do have a feeling this website is probably one of their subs hehe......

heck, I can actually check if that's the case 🙂....for 2 of them at least.

Right because it was necessary to post all that for no reason whatsoever

There's a card you have to carry? Just this morning I was thinking about how we have to carry 3 things with us at all times... keys, wallet, and phone. Would be great to get rid of the wallet and use a smartphone for everything (grow, google wallet, grow!).

Fail 🙁

I really wish NFC payments would take off. I don't think there's a single terminal here in my small town. It'd be nice to just pay by tapping my phone and clicking OK.

the first funding takes 3-5 days. If you link accounts after your account is established I think its next day transfers.I haven't fully tested this yet

No it's always 3 business days for me. On my checking account transferring money to an account from a different bank takes several days.

yes you get issued a standard debit card. Soon they are mobile focused I would expect them to be on board with NFC as soon as its practical

Its not just small towns, NFC isn't available anywhere in the US

We have it here at McDonalds and stuff, but it's definitely not widespread. Also doesn't help that Google Wallet doesn't show up in the Play Store for many people thanks to carriers.

Oh yea, I think we have it at McD's here too. Still would be nice if it was abundant

Hrm, was surprised to see that there are 6x as many ATMs for me to visit than my big bank. Unfortunately, other than Target, they are all in shitty bar/casino (video lottery) joints.

I have BofA. What's so not-simple about that? My money goes in, it stays there until I take it out. They have many, many ATM's for me to get to my money. They have online banking for me to look at my money. What more do I need? What is so difficult about that that I would need to "Bank Simple"?

I'm not a salesman dude. if you don't want it cool...keep it moving.

People should just use credit unions and smaller banks. You know, so then we don't have to have big bank bailouts and all that shit?

Looks pretty interesting but I've been really really happy with PNC. Doesn't cost a nickel and has very good online services and a nice app.

Fuck you. I was reading the site just fine until your js noticed it couldn't track me. How about *I* decide when I need js to view a site?

As a web developer I found this equal parts hysterical and silly. At this point JavaScript is a basic building block of the Web - any site that wants to function in a more dynamic fashion than requiring you to load a new page for every different little form you need is going to require it.

But by all means, continue to enjoy the 1990s Web while the rest of us move forward. You won't be missed.

If you're an average schmuck with basically a zero balance in your accounts then your support for wall street comes from voting for republicans or democrats, not the reserves you put on their books.

By all means, continue to enjoy your xss attacks, and third party tracking while I continue on with my unmolested machine. I don't give a shit what you do. I don't value your opinion.

I recently left Royal Bank for a local credit union/bank. TBH, contrary to what most people say, I did not really have any issues with the service at RBC. However I had always heard of how we should stop supporting the big banks because of how evil they are, and I heard about what RBC did and it was the straw that broke the camel's back. They fired a whole bunch of employees and made them train their replacements: "Temporary" foreign workers.

A LOT of companies, especially banks, are doing this. Why? TFW do not need to be paid minimum wage, given benifits, and other expenses such as taxes. So companies are outsourcing to them instead of hiring locally because it's cheaper. These are companies already making BILLIONS of dollars per quarter, yet they are so greedy they want to make even more, and put people on the streets to do so.

I'm quite happy with the local bank so far, and when I pickup the phone and call, it's actually someone in my own city that answers, not someone over seas. It's also a co-op. Mortgage and RRSPs are all moved, and so is checking and credit card/line. Giving it a few months to ensure all the stuff comes out from the new bank and I'll be closing everything at RBC.
