I work as a technical support for a computer company
I am sick and tired of people asking stupid basic questions which can be found in user's manual.
From Customer,

"I have an Intel 333 Celeron installed on my XXXX Motherboard and I noticed that once the CPU was removed for whatever reason the computer will not boot up."

How can I deal with them?

:(

Why don't you share the humor with your coworkers. Put the person on hold, get a few people around, then put the person on speakerphone and ask them to repeat the question.

I use the "wrong button disconect" at work so some other looser can deal with them, or I just flat out transfer it to another person.

Recordings are good to.

At least you have a phone connection separating you from the morons. They walk right into my cube and ask the most inane questions. No way to avoid them then. Our head of QA also happens to be the head of doc, and he still has yet to discover the wonder of that Spanish guy Manual.

You're paid by the hour, aren't you? If so what's the problem? Have fun with them until they figure out how foolish they're been.
