This is more of a rant than anything, but this year has been the worst for colds for me. First I get one in january, where I am shivering so hard I can't move and can barely breathe. After 2 weeks I get over it, now I am thinking my immune system has been through the worst, my odds are good I shouldn't get sick for the rest of the year, but noooo now I am sick AGAIN. I swear if I could RMA my body I would get rid of this POS !!!

I am relatively healthy 24 year old, which is baffling. There are people in their 50s at work that have less frequent and less sever colds than I do. I am not really looking for remedies, I just wanted to share my cool story and express my hatred for the human body.

This can be attributed to many things. Probably stress and or seasonal change.

First, start taking a multivitamin...Zinc and B12 are very important. Get plenty of sleep if you've been running off 5 hours or so of sleep. Also, Vitamin D is a key player as well.

Sorry for giving you remedies but felt like I should share some of my wisdom.

This winter I was not sick once, no colds, no stomach bugs, no fevers. And I will share with you my secret. Anytime you feel something coming on, drink plenty of this: http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Lithuanian-Krupnikas/Detail.aspx

IANAD. Results may vary. Discuss with your physician before starting an alcohol regime. Use at your own risk.

PS I suspect my real reason for not being sick this year is because we got over 60" of snow this year so sick people were more likely to stay home; however I do love this stuff and it does make you feel better.

I stepped into an elementary school for the first time in many, many years this past winter. And let me tell you, I think I only touched 1 doorknob but it was enough to give me something akin to the black plague.

I know the feeling. My daughter is at daycare 4 days a week and is constantly fighting a cold. The little germ machine brings all the nasties home and infects my wife and I.

once my daughter started going to Kindergarten we were sick a lot. but now that she is in 2nd grade and my wife works at the school we don't get sick as often.

its amazing how often you get sick once you get around kids a lot.

I have a 16 month old. I have NEVER in my life been so sick as I have over the past 16 months. Everytime I get better, my son brings home a new surprise......

I hear ya. I was sick last December for about a week leading into Christmas. Out of nowhere I started feeling weak and just not right about 3.5 weeks ago. A couple days in I felt like someone had shoved about 50lbs of shit into my sinuses that would slowly drain into my chest. To this day I am still coughing and when I talk I still sound stuffed. Dr. gave me a 10 day antibiotic that seems to have killed off most of what he thought was bronchitis, but damn this was a hellish cold. I can only hope it is 100% gone before I leave for Cozumel on the 16th.

The worst I have had a is random sore throat from post nasal drip at night.
My wife has been getting whatever my daughter brings home. Both of them have been a mess all year. I am going to say I am healthy because of the random beer I will have with dinner.
So following that logic, you should drink a beer now and then.

I just got over the crud too. Stuffy head, sore throat, sneezing, coughing. I tried like hell to give it to my wife but she refused to have any of it. :(

This may explain things as we have been babysitting various children recently, and I never used to get sick this often.

As a side note I have been popping COLD-FX like smarties, tends to work most of the time.

That was last year for me. I had two colds and then the flu to close out the winter (that was the most miserable I've ever been). But on the bright side, I've been healthy since then.

I usually get sick at least once every winter, but not this year. NOOOO I had to wait until the days were actually starting to be really nice and get a viral sinus infection. I've never had one of these before. It put me down for the count for three days. Codeine cough syrup is gooooood stuff.

I think it's a conspiracy by the government to prove to all of us just how bad we need health care reform. They are infecting us on purpose!!!!!

Not really.....lol

I haven't gotten sick since like 2002 or 2003.. I'm in the 20's.
Most of it is due to the amount of cardio exercise, food you eat, sanitary & hygiene habits and keeping yourself knowledgeable with your surroundings for pathogens.

I know a friend who works out muscle bulking vigorously and has guns like Zangief, but literally gets sick like every half year.
