Has anyone tried to stick the cnps 7000 (the big @$$ copper cooler) in the shuttle form factor ?

The only problems I can see are perhaps the cooler would be too tall, or it might make the adjacent PCI slot unusable, but the latter is not a big deal.

well, my MCX4000 w/ a TMD fan fits perfectly in the system. And I modified the exhaust to use a standard 92mm fan instead. This setup cools better than the loud heatpipe solution and is much quieter.

Since noone around here has tried, perhaps I will :)

lodog00 - do you have the 92mm fan in conjunction with the heatpipe (with modded shroud to fit it, etc) or do you use the ICE system at all w/ the 92mm fan? I have a couple 92's sitting here not being used and I'd like to get better cooling/less noise as well.

id like to see pics of the 92mm mod. i love having cool systems and i am concerned about what kind of processor the shuttle can take and still be cool. anyone have any idea? i was thinking of putting a 2500+ Barton in one... any other mods that can be done to improve cooling?

my 2500+ runs ~46°c idle and up to 53 under load. the fan noise is crazy though when you are doing cpu intensive stuff - it speeds up/down/up/down. I'd rather get a quiet fan going 100% than run more software. Also, anyone know where to get 40x10mm fans (quiet, high quality) at decent prices in the states?
