Are you certain it's the button that's bad? Did you make sure that the wire for the power button is properly connected to the mobo?

If your case has a reset switch you can connect the reset switch to the power header on the mobo temporarily and use that as the power switch just to see if it really is an issue with the switch or not.

Can't help you on how to take the front cover off. DO a Google search. Most cases there's a plastic tab either on the bottom or inside.

Buttons aren't very standard so you may have a problem finding a replacement that fits. One option is to use the keyboard for powering on/off. Most modern mobos support using a function key (usually F12) as the power button. You have to enable it in BIOS.

yea.. its the power button

reason, I was slamming the power button really hard and when i keep doing it,
it turned on.. but as you may know i pressed it again so it turned off. gave me a blue light though. oh wells. but ive to take off the cover but its so hard to, i dont want to break anything that cant be put back together. the shuttle case is really strong.

also, i cant turn on the computer so it doesnt help either.
ive tried a google search.. not working, or im not looking hard enough.. oh wells
back to google again.

ty for responding though

You definitely won't break anything by accident by simply taking off the cover.

You'll need your manual handy to fix it. Do like the Penguin said and switch your power button connector with your reset switch connector on the motherboard. All they do is temporarily complete a circuit to signal the motherboard to either reset or turn off/on-they are identical hardware wise. Then you'll have a power switch but no reset (don't need one if you don't use windows me!).
