I have a SN41G2 that's a bit too loud/hot, and a couple sanyo denki 92mm fans sitting here not being used. Has anyone successfully used a 92mm fan instead of the 80mm cpu/system fan in a shuttle?

Yes. Cut out the rear mesh and put the 92mm on the outside pulling air out. Go to sfftech.com forums - answers galore...

Thanks Psycho - I didn't realize they had a modification section - no wonder I didn't see anything in the shuttle section :D

might be able tofit a 120mm if you cut the hole and screw the fan on from the outside? ;) might work, who knows. i call it the fan wart method:p
ugly but it might work. if theres truely not enough space, you could get those 80 to 92 or 80 to 120mm adaptors. they mostly are used for cpu's but they'll work in other situations:) would be kinda amusing looking.

yea, i just looked at the case, you could jam one of these on externally on the back :) its a 80mm rear exhaust right? http://www.svc.com/fa80120-blue.html and nibble/remove the restrictive rear fan grill.

buy a 120mm fan and a fanmate 1 controller for it. cheapo 4 dollar fan speed controller, just leave it inside case or hanging out:p little knob.
