I see you emphasized the REVISION 1.0. Is there already a REVISION 1.x out or planned?

BTW, I wanted to point out a crazy @#$#ing mod ...

and the 300W PSU (needed to replace the 200W) needed to do it:

I have an SN41G2 and running a 2800+ barton and a 9800pro w/o any complications. Not sure why it needs modded. Does the gffx 5800 suck that much power over the 9800 pro?

eliteramen,
go to http://forums.sudhian.com and search for "SN45G." You will get a plethora of info. As far as I know, the SN45G's shipping with different power supplies are having revision 1.4 and 1.5 FN45 motherboards. But, keep in mind some ECS K7S5A revision 3.0 motherboards were found to be not as stable and overclockable as the revision 1.0 K7S5A (my old board) motherboards. Basically, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it."

yeah, I've seen a lot of people fussing over the fact that the PSU is "only" 200w. Don't let the wattage fool you... the PSU is VERY capable of running a pretty loaded system. Don't get caught up in the numbers game. Shuttle XPC Forums Check out that link for tons of info.

hi dejacky,

Im going to order this item later on today I was wondering did you get the 6in1 card reader?

Im going to be replacing this Case for the shuttle, wanted to know if the silver look is ok or should i consider painting and moding to make it look black?

That's a pretty nice case, but you might want to check wether or not the board will fit in the case properly since the board isn't a micro ATX board.

The silver look of the shuttle is very elegant looking in my opinion. The SN41G2 looked more "bubbily" and "Maxim Magizine ish" IMO. If you pay $275, you get the 6in1 card reader, so I just took the cheaper price since I don't need that reader. Today I hit AthlonXP 1700+ (1.47ghz) @ 2300mhz (2.3ghz) with 1.825 voltage at ~410mhz fsb speed with a single 512MB dimm of Kingston PC3500 HyperX cas 2.0, 2.5v. I'll try pushing it more once I get my 2nd hard drive.

hmmm ... yah, I see what you mean. I wonder what makes rev 1.4 and 1.5 better than 1.0? I'll check out that forum, thanks for the link.

awww man! I wish they were running that promotion when I bought my SN45G from them! Does anyone feel kind enough to send me their headphones? The sweet spot on my overclock seems to be 436mhz DDR (219mhz) with Kingston PC3500 Cas 2 hyperX 2.5volt AND athlonXP 1700+ @ 2180mhz at 1.7volts. Although I can overclock the FSB to 222MHZ already (ram at cas2 and 2.5v), it's only rated to 434mhz cas 2. I thought you'd all find it entertaining. :p

Hmmm... I wonder how much I have to pay to get the second headphone. Oh well, I just bought a $265 headphone and got a free barebones computer to go with it! Sweet! :D

The $6 headphones are far from a deal maker/breaker, but they are a nice little addition. At some point I really need to just buy one of these kits, they are cool. But I should sell a comp (or two) before I spend any more money, don't need so many. :)

I think this is a great price! Imagine trying to build a similar system on a regular tower.

Example:

Case: Antec SLK2600AMB (with good 300 watt PS) - $56

MB: Asus A7N8X Dlx (you have to go with the dlx version for similar features) - $130

Cooling: Thermalright SLK800 - $40

Fans: 3 80mm fans (1 front, 1 back, and 1 for cpu) - $15

Total - $241.

For a whopping $24 more, you get a computer that won't take up room, one that you can leave on a desk or use it as an HTPC, and it's easily transportable. Now, the caveat is that you most likely won't be able to upgrade when newer mbs becomes available. So treat it like a laptop.

I'm using Artic Silver III and it's cooling extremely well, now that I'm running an AthlonXP 1.47ghz@2.20ghz. Also, don't forget that the shuttle has powered FireWire, USB 2.0, AND NFORCE2 Soundstorm :).

eXcaliberPC has impressed me with my first purchase from them!

On Monday afternoon I ordered the SN45G, a Shuttle Carrying Bag (these are really nice!) and a GUARENTEED 1700+ Version B T-Bred DLT3 stepping. I received it all today, Wednesday. It was shipped before COB Monday only a couple hours after the order was put in.

I don't know about how it works yet since I'm still at work, but I'm only hoping for a moderate OC of about 2-2.07 GHz (166 * 12 or 12.5).

Netopia,
are you using an lcd monitor since you got the shuttle carrying case? I'm thinking of getting an LCD, since it's more portable and consumes less power, which hopefully makes my electric bills cheaper hehe!
