Shuttle AN35N Ultra... will it do s3 standby properly?

I am thinking of buying this board for use as a HTPC with MCE 2005. There is a hack for s3 standby... I'm just curious if it will work.

Does anyone out there use s3 standby with this board successfully? Is it even an option?

Also, is there any reason I should not get this board?

Also, can anyone tell me how many usb headers there are?

And there isn't a firewire connector, right?

can't comment any on the s3 standby (no idea what you're talking about), or the usb headers (just plain can't remember), but my AN35N Ultra ROCKED when I had it about a year or so ago. I wish every board had such great quality at a low price.

I'm pretty sure it has 6 total. I think 2 headers on the board for 4 and 2 on the backplate. Not sure about the s3, never payed attention to it. But if you can get a decent deal on this board it's awesome. Only thing i didn't like about it was a max of 2.7 vdimm. Other than that it was an awesome overclocking board with lots of voltage/multi/fsb options and was super stable. You're correct that it doesn't have firewire.

Now that I've bought them (picked up 2), I can say that they're only $32 at newegg for refurbs.

I don't plan on overclocking for now, but we shall see. I like the fact that it supports mobile chips and allows the multiplier to be changed...

It's actually a pretty good budget overclocker if you decide to get into a bit of that.

Actually I think there are only 2 on the back, unless you count the 2 on the bracket.

i have one.....it is as good a board as there is.......running athlone 2500 at 2.2 without even breathting heavy
