So i just spent 2 hours watching this and all i have to say is what the fuck? can somebody please explain to me what the fuck happen in this film? i so confused.

You serious? The last act walked you through the entire film.

Right...they spent so much time explaining it was anticlimactic.
He was a patient the whole time. He caused so much disruption that as a last gasp before they had to lobotomize him they tried a new therapy where he was able to act out his delusions in hopes it would bring him around.

Spoilers:

He creates another life to block out the death of his kids. Hes in there cause he killed his wife and went crazy. At the end he realizes hes actually crazy but is better. However he acts crazy so they perform the lobotomy on him so he forgets everything.

This is how I saw it. Their insane attempt to bring him back to reality worked. He realized his wife did that stuff. Instead of confronting his obviously quite painful past he decided to have the lobotomy done and essentially end his not so happy life.

hmm dont remember the lobotomy part. I guess it starts to make sense but it was a pretty weird movie imo

Seriously. Did you sleep through the last act? It was clearly explained to the audience. I expected better of Scorsese. I couldn't believe he stooped that low. I already had an idea about what was going on , but the way the story was told ruined the movie for me.

the last bit explained that movie rather well. dont watch it high, next time
/wish i had watched it high, i just cant get into that kind of flick anymore

black guy in orderlies walking up to Cap...carrying bag full of medical tools...last scene was lighthouse...

that would definitely be the part up for discussion, based on Leo's last quote in the movie

Awesome film, so beautifully crafted. I do not understand how someone could hate the whole film because the "twist" was not twisty enough. :hmm:

just read the wiki and put the puzzle peices together in my mind. Thanks for the link i fully understand what i just watched. I guess next time i watch it ill pass on the joint.

You know, the last act really did explain everything pretty well. You might want to go back and watch it again...

Were you smoking pot while watching it? Sorry, your avatar makes me wonder. You missed alot of the movie from what i've read.

Anyways, go to Wikipedia and read. Wikipedia basically tells the entire story for any movie that exists. I tend to do this with better movies just incase I missed something.
At the end, I did not know if the treatment failed or not when he referred to his doctor as Chuck. I think he was fixed but then realized how messed up he was that he wanted to forget everything and chose the lobotomy. Actually, he chose the lobotomy because he doesn't want to remember the pain of his family's death.
... Wikipedia explains this better than I do.
