Hi all,

I have again 1 more problem.. Seems they keep happening lately.

Well anyhow, when i shutdown it does as normal, i go to turn the power on and it turns on flashes cd-roms and HDD. but doesnt actually "boot" i have to restart the power again and it does as normal..

Same thing with restart, i have to hit the button again to trigger it to boot? ????

What gives?

I was thinking something in the ACPI area..

Thanks for any help.

I had the same problem in my computer a little while ago. Did two things around the same time and it went away - flashed my bios to the latest version, and plugged in the extra fans in the back of my case.
It was probably the updated bios that fixed it, but maybe the (overclocked) computer was getting too hot and that was messing it up too.

Well i don't think it is in there because i checked everything that was even remotely assoicated with ACPI or Power settings..

I doubt it has anything to do with a Win2k update or anything of that sort...

Win2k sp2.

Hopefully someone here knows something that could help me out...

Thanks for the help.

Couldn't find anything at a 15 minute glance in Windows Support...

There has to be a fix...

Well, you're overclocking, maybe try bringing it back down to stock speed and see what happens.
My system is also overclocked, and when I turned on the extra fans in my case, the problem went away (flashed the bios at the same time). Could be a symptom of the system running hot.

bump..

May-be a CMOS setting, I'll pop the battery out and then see if it resets it...

That is not even remotely related to a software issue.

Pull everything internally and externally except the psu, cpu, one stick of ram, video, and a single HDD. Is everything fine now?

You can also try pulling all of the wires for the pwr/reset/leds/etc from the mobo, and using a screwdriver to short the 2 power pins for on/off capabilities. Let us know how it turns out.
