Shutdown problems

When I shutdown my comp I get a blue screen (Windows protection fault please researt your computer). I reinstalled Windows Me and I still get the blue screen. While using my computer normaly surfing, playing games or anything else I can happily say I never crash. Only when I shutdown I get the blue screen. If I were to restart however it doesn't give me the blue screen, only when I shutdown competely. Anyone have any thoughts on what my problem is?

PS I already downloaded the fix for HDDs not getting flushed completely because of fast processors and I still get the blue screen, and the latest 4in1 VIA drivers.

I've had the same problem and I did 3 things at once which solved my problem (I know...major no no, but I was really pissed off that night...that blue screen was the only thing between me and a rock solid system 😉 . Anyway I first updated the multimedia drivers for my keyboard (it's a Rotek EZ-3000). Second I downloaded the Geforce2 drivers from my video card maker instead from Nvidia (I have a Guillemot and I downloaded the 6.35 drivers from them). Third I moved my sound card (Aureal Sq2500) to another PCI slot. Anyway, after those three things, everything worked fine. If I was you, I would first download the drivers form ELSA (unfortunately they're still in v4.12). If that doesn't work, then it has to be an IRQ conflict with one of your PCI devices. Anyways good luck....I hope that that helped.
