Win2k, Abit KT7, Antec SX1030. When I shutdown, it gets to the "its safe to shutdown ..." screen but never turns off. No big deal, lets hit the power button. Nada. In order to shutdown now, I need to hit the reset button and then the power button while it's booting. Any ideas?

ummm...i have an abit...and if the auto turn off is switched off (there's a bios ... option in power management i think) than you have to hold the power button for more than 5 seconds...other wise it doens't turn off cuz of some safety option...or you could hit the back of the p/s.

some hdd take longer to turn off also...like seagate 6 gig...grrr...

Also...ME has problems during shut off on rare cases with 933mhz and high cache buffering hdd's... where in this case it is advised to turn off power management and manually turn off your computer.

hope you fix your problems...
