Shure SCL4 White IEM $79.99

that is musiciansfriend....very legit. the scl4 are $249...shure discontinued the white ones which is why they are being blown out. I hopped on this and ordered two...I hope they come. I have the old E2 and E3 which would now be the scl2 and scl3s now. I destroy them from years of use. I use my grados now but prefer in ears for NYC. Too loud here. The black scl4 are still $249

they are 2 levels higher. scl2, scl3, scl4, scl5. In this range.

the scl2 are normaly around $99. the SCL4 are $249. The scl5 if they are like the originals have to be fit by an audiologist and are $499. I don't know if that changed because I know they introduced some other lines. The scl4s are better than the 2s for sure. That said I always preferred my 2s to my 3s, even though the 3s were clearer. Sort of like analog vs digital I guess. Other places will be blowing out the white 4s but I don't know for how much. I just hope my order doesn't get cancelled.

I think we overwhelmed them:

you are not gonna like this....

I am gonna get blasted.....

Then you haven't heard the sennheiser cx300s. Quite possibly the best bass I've heard in an IEM style earphone. Very punchy low end which is great for me, at the cost of a bit of high end clarity. My shure e2cs had almost no bass, so I dumped them for these cx300s that cost half as much.

the ex85's that come with sony mp3 players actually have better bass than the cx300's. but those are rarely on sale for less than 50. and are not closed headphones

How do these compare to the E3c? Seems like shure has a few new lines since I last checked a few years ago.

This is just not true. As with most in ears, the sound quality depends on fit. You need to get the proper fit or sound will just suck. That is why I always liked the E2s better than the E3s. They fit ME better...plus I liked the foam they came with. Foam always works better for me than the other types they package. That said, I am looking forward to trying the Slc4s.

Seems to be alive again, at Amazon from J&R. J&R's regular site has it in stock but at the non-discounted price, though with a note saying you could call or visit them for their best price.

Note that the page now says "Processing takes an additional 3 to 4 days for orders from this seller" -- it wasn't there when I put my order in yesterday...
