Shure E2c vs. E2g

Is there really much difference besides the obvious visual differences between the Shure E2cs and the E2gs. I know the Gs are meant for PSPs and gamers, but is there really much difference? I like how the e2gs look a lot better than the e2cs, but if the Cs will be overall better for music then I guess that is the way to go. I looked online for comparison reviews with little to no luck. Anyone have experience with these and know about the subject?

I know, I know.. ULTRA BUMP! But I'm about to buy a pair of these and want to get opinions on how much to cough up for quality/useage..

So, I will be using these for 3 circumstances.. at work to listen to mostly sports talk radio over the 'net, while playing games on my DS, and for listening to my MP3 player at the gym.
I work 40 hours a week, go to the gym like 4 days a week, and play DS whenever I'm bored away frorm home.. so - sports talk/rock/rap/DS games..

Should I go high and get an e5/3, or be conservitive with an e3c/e2c..?

Thanks for input

I actually went with the e2gs and LOVE em!!

I have yet to find a problem with them....they sound great (after they get burned in)...good balance, hits all the highs and lows, even mids. They isolate 95% of outside sound and fit very well...extremely comfortable. Id highly reccomend them...and look around ebay for them, you can get them for under $130 if you look hard enough!

Sweet, but those are for gaming arn't they? Hence the G? I don't need to hear my DS that nicely 😛

Also, they got the e3g's on eBay for less than $130 now too! I would snag those if I had a PSP heh.

from shures website "there is no difference between the e2cs and e2gs other than black coated drivers and wires vs the white" I have a black ipod, so I went with the black headphones...its a matter of preference

Welp, I decided to go with the e2g's after all. Got them on teh Bay for $72 shipped, so you owe me if they don't sound kick-ass Juice Box. 😛

WHAT WHAT WHAT?! Why I oughta..! :| *crushes his juice box in anger* that... you.. DIE!

Er, that's ok 😛 I went to head-fi.org beforehand and found a lot of info on both models and came to the conclusion that I wasn't going to invest more then $100 in something I never had before and don't know how much I will like. Also, after im done with these the e5's should be affordable if I really do like these. Plus, 2/3 people there said the bass in the e2's was better than the e3's by far, and I like me some bass. So yeah, no biggie. 😛

You made the right choice, amazing considering you asked at head-fi, where they'll advise someone with a 1985 Walkman to invest in $500 headphones as if he'd know the difference with such a crappy source. You really need to have a decent source (no 128bit mp3s, no psp, no audigy) for headphones past the entry level to be worth it.

That's bull. I always thought i was tone deaf or something, because i can rarely tell the difference between audio sources... but i can tell you there's a HUGE HUGE HUGE difference betweeen my Shure's and Sony's MDR-EX81LP and MDR-EX51LP... i got sick of the Shure's always tugging out when i was working out because of the way it wrapped around my head, so i picked those 2up. The EX51LP were so bad i just gave them away after using them for an hr. The EX81LP is barely better, but it fits better than the Shure's for me, so i've been using them.

I like the e2cs although the way you wear it is quite odd. People borrowing my earphones never quite figure it out
