I just got a pair myself, $63 shipped at ebuyer.com. Like them quite a bit, you do pay a price for the size & portability though; compared to my Sennheiser 280s ($80), they have rolled off highs & lows, aren't as revealing and don't attenuate outside noise as well. Not putting them down, they sound fantastic, just noting how they compare to entry-level sealed cans. On the other hand, I can't mow the lawn, be seen in public or work out with my 280s, so it all evens out.

For working out or stuff like that these are great. Ive got some giant expensive clunkers that are for my studio use, and i know good sound. These thing have it. A friend bought a pair and i was actualy so amazed at the sound i started laughing when i heard it.

I walk around town, drive, mow lawn, do everything, with bigger ones then that.

I love my e2c's for walking to work/class or just about anything... too bad they broke on me after three months 🙁 Hopefully my fixed pair will be coming back soon. I still much prefer my Grado SR-80's when at home though.

I'm surprised you don't have them already.

If you don't like normal silicone plugs or foamies, do yourself a favor and get yourself the E2c soft rubber plugs.. I love my E2c's even more. 🙂 If I happen to sleep with these on, I can forget about waking up in time tomorrow morning 😀

yeah, DEFINATELY GET THE SOFT RUBBER PLUGS... they'll take it to another level. the silicone are stiff and hurts. the foams you need to roll to insert.. and they get dirty quick. the rubber tips are a quick plug-in and pull-out and are comfy

Different phones for different uses 🙂 I have my Audio Technica ATH-A500 at home, and I carry both my E2c and Koss KSC35 with me in my bag

I got my soft flex sleeves in eBay from these guys

True, true.

I just ordered some E4's (black). They are suppose to start shipping this week. I have never had a canal headphone so hopefully they will sound almost as good as my HD280 Pros.

Edit: I guess I should mention that I wasnt crazy enough to pay full retail....just $192 shipped.

$65 from buy.com if anyone's interested

might want to go to hot deals and point this out.

note that the original post is from february 2nd. who knows if that deal is still good.

edit: still $64.99 on buy.com. but i'm not doing any price comparisons, so i don't know how good of a deal this is.

Still digging my e3cs - excellent for the money, and I get a good seal with the foam pads (which, incidentally, can be purchased in bulk from their website as foam pads get grimmy and compressed over time)

Only thing I don't like is the fiddling around required to properly seat the phones and then route the cord, but it's a small price to pay for quality sound on the go

You wont get absolute sound isolation but a huge part of the hum is gone w/ these. ONce you have the music on you wont be able to hear much at all. I use it on the bus and I never notice the engine anymore.

I thought a large part of the isolation was how good the seal was.

Do you guys use the plastic things or the foam tips? I'm thinking of switching to foam tips. Even the smallest plastic ear things are too big to create a good seal for me.

holy thread resurrection, batman!! :Q

btw, the ~$65 price at buy.com has been that low for a while now.

i'm still using the e2c's and i'm still lovin' em 🙂

I have huge ears (if I could flap them I might well be able to take off :Q), and the large flex sleeves (ie. plastic ones) are a perfect fit for me. I tried the foamies just to try them, but the fact that I liked the flex sleeves in the first place, the slightly more involved insertion process for the foamies and the fact they get dirty & have to be replaced often has kept me with the plastic ones.
