what sonic expectations do you have? If one of your answers is "profound bass" the E2C is not for you. This thread has some popular alternatives you can check out.

I, personally, along with my brother and a couple friends could not get the bass to work in that IEM. Some people report decent bass. My Altec Lansing IM716 (based on the Etymotic Research ER-4P) has a decent amount of bass, but not nearly as much as my koss portapro over-the-head standard earphones.
For IEM, it all rests on the FIT. If it doesn't fit right, you will get zero bass.

Not sure what to get at this point.

the best way to figure out if IEM is for you is to try out your friend's. Otherwise, its a gamble :/

I ended up not getting any headphones and used the zune ones. They are pretty damn good. But in the end i gave my zune to my mom since she really liked it and i had no use for it.

IEM filters can get clogged easily with earwax and pocket dust, so do be aware that you will have to take extra care with the IEMs and clean them out frequently and buy replacement filters as necessary.

I thought that the E2C's were fantastic, as long as I had the right foamies on it. I used the large soft rubber ones and they worked great. Very neutral response, but incredibly clear. They are the only headphones that I've tried where I kept turning the music down because they were so isolated. But I sold them.
