I am a Seahawks fan, but I really think this is BS. They Patriots are a great team and deserve nothing but respect. The whole video bit is something teams have done for many years. Get over it....

Your thoughts?

Load 'em up! ***! Don Shula has more authority on this subject than any one of us. I happen to agree with him, though, which I'm sure is a shock to some of you :D.

of course he is saying that. the pats are the only team in a long time to have a actual shot at going undeafeted. IF shula can keep them from doing it or put anything to make it look like its not as good as what they did he is going to.

pretty un classy of the guy to do.

Thats what i can't understand.... On fox sports, Jimmy Johnson and Barry Switzer admitted to doing it. We all know most other coaches did it....

I saw an interview with Jimmy Johnson a few weeks ago & he mentioned that the video taping thing has been going on for years plus has been done by every team at some point ... people need to get over it & accept that they are just better then everyone else in the NFL right now.

Also Shula really needs to shut up ... he's just afraid he'll lose his only claim to fame if another team goes undefeated.

Oh noes the Pats got caught doing what every other team does, and probably more. Anything to gain an advantage, but IMHO it means squat on the field. What if a defense knew exactly what play was going to be run?

In the long history of the Cleveland/Pitt rivaarly they only met once in the playoffs before Moddel moved the team to crackmore. Pitt used two running plays that game, a trap and a draw, both plays were run to either side. Midway through the 1st quarter the Browns realized if it was a run, it was one of those two plays. Pitt rolled up over 230 yards rushing in that game. Browns comments after the game, "we knew exactly what was coming, we just couldn't stop it from happening".

By week 3-4 everyone knows what all the other teams are running through game film. Does someone need to inform D coordinators that NE will throw deep to Moss, or use Welker in the slot? Knowing what a team will do and being able to stop them are two different animals. The game is played and won on the field, by the players. Great teams impose their will when executing a game plan. That is what's most impressive about NE, not the stats or their record, the way they impose their will.

Good to see that the '72 Dolphins team continues their fine tradition as one of the most pathetic bunches of old men in sports.

I've had about enough of Boston sports fans, but bring on a 19-0 season, once it's over and these Miami knuckleheads figure out that no one cares about their asterisk, they can go ahead and fade into Bolivian.

The whole video thing doesn't really bother me. The Pats are not winning because of the video. How much does it really help a team?
Mangini only made an issue out of it because of a personal grudge. He was probably doing it himself when he was on the Pats sideline.
Pats are now showing that they can beat the crap out of the rest of the league without it.

Shula has turned into a real old crank the last couple of years. I'd ignore anything he says.

Sure, add the asterisk if they do it...

* including a 4th-quarter comeback win against the Colts

Everyone would be saying the same thing about the Colts if the Pats weren't there to stop them from becoming the dynasty the Pats have.

Excellent. I'm not sure if Shula is aware of this, but the Patriots have been using Spy-gate as a psychological edge very successfully. The mere fact that he's providing more bulletin board material for the Patriots will help keep that edge very sharp and will have the unintended consequence of creating more motivation to crush everyone opponent here on out. If Shula had any brains, he would be bringing this up AFTER the season (contingent on the Patriots actually going 19-0 of course) when it couldn't possibly help the Pats. If i'm Cam Cameron, i'd be hella pissed at Shula because when the Pats play the Dolphins here on out, they'll be out to run up the score on them even worse.

Hell, i hope he brings it up next year too. It could really help the patriots.
