Shows where peripheral characters are better than the main guy

I'm watching Seinfeld marathon and it made me realize I don't really care for Jerry himself. His voice is squeaky, humor is obvious and boring, and his general character is lame. George, Elaine, & Kramer really make the show, as they're outright hilarious.

Same goes for Entourage. Vince is a complete puppet. He's just a vehicle for rest of the characters actually. It's worse than Seinfeld. Turtle, E, and Drama make the show...

Do you have a similar take on other shows?

This. But I don't know if there's really one main character in that show. They all have Barney, Marshall, Lily, Ted, and Robin equally intertwined and appearing. It's just told from Ted's point of view.

Seinfeld is the obvious one.

MASH, after the third season when Alan Alda started to get really annoying. But Larry Linville, David Odgen Steirs, and Jamie Farr were always awesome.

Larry was always much cooler than Jack Tripper.

Dan was better than Harry. Bull too. And Selma. And Roz. And Mac.

After several episodes of watching Casey and Danny be douches I really started to dislike any storylines focused on them and preferred Dana episodes (cuz she's crazy) and Natalie/Jeremy stuff cuz they were much nicer people.
And Isaac was awesome but that lends more to Robert Guillames talent than anything else. Shame Sports Night only lasted two seasons.

Currently its Rescue Me. Denis Leary is funny but watching him go through the same alcoholic rage shit is tiresome after 5 seasons. Am starting to dislike the guy every time I see him. But the idiot twins are always hilarious (mostly lately with the orange dick) and Lou is fanfuckingtastic in every episode. Cousin Micky and Uncle Teddy are always good as well.
