...And?

It's offensive.** We get enough religion everwhere else, without having it contaminate our mindless entertainment too.

**I'm going to change my choice of wording here, and describe it as boring (for the most part) as opposed to offensive.

It's not as offensive as 2 Dudes making out on a couch with live lobsters roaming the ground.

What do you find offensive about religion in entertainment, assuming the point isn't indoctrination?

People are religous, so shows about people will be religous. It's exactly because it's everywhere else that it must be on tv too.

Yeah that episode p!ssed me off too. Barely any advancement in the storyline... I had to be careful when watching it as I nearly slipped into a coma a couple of times through boredom...

It's offensive? 70% of the world is religious in one form or another.

Are you offended that they're are also *gasp* girls on the show? Or men? Or asians? Or a fat guy? Or a bald guy? Or an Iraqi?

Man, you must live in a constant state of agitation with all this "stuff" being forced on you through a TV show.

It's offensive? It's the major religion of 70% of the world.

So don't watch it. Sheesh... I don't care, and I'm ATOT's most renowned atheist.

The West Wing has a lot of references to religion in it.

Usually I find that people whom are offended by religion on tv, are the same ones that argue you should just change the station if you're offended by the content, when speaking of broadcasts such as Howard Stern.

You are right, I meant 70% of the world was "religious" in one form or another. (actually, I think it's more like 85%, but this was just an "out of the air" number.)

Thank you.

The religious themes in Battlestar I thought were really quite interesting. It was a fresh treatment of a tired topic.

And to be more precise, 75% of U.S. Americans and Canadians are Christian.

It may be fresh for TV, but it seems like a pretty timeless Sci-Fi theme...perhaps even fiction in general. Personally, I like how it reflects "real life" religion.

That said, if you don't like what's on, other programming is just a button-press away.

Maybe Americans, but I'll bet the Farm the ratio is less than 60% for Canucks.

Do you guys do the same when there's *gasp* nudity * on TV? No. Religious folks get their underwear all wadded up and start saying how showing a nipple during a 'half-time' show is ruining America.

Who are "you guys?" I'd be surpised if the same people here telling him to "turn it off" were the sames ones raging over the SB incident, or any other similar issue.

"Religious folks" comprises are large group of individuals, not a single-thought monolith.
