Anyone know what I'm talking about, or was my Dad pulling my leg about the dirt mounds? I do know there were signs that told you not to stop and don't get out of the car (air-patrolled area).

That would Umatilla Oregon. They just recently built an incinerator to destroy them.

It's not fake. I've lived in Tucson and seen this IRL.
Ohh, and it's not grass on teh planes, it's paint.
