You can see my rig in my sig.

Dual Athlon 2800

1.25GB DDR

hey man, how do you like the Gigabyte board..... I am getting the MSI K7D Master and was wondering how much you liked the Gigabyte... if I have problems with the MSI, I am going with the Gigabyte 🙂

I have 2 MP1800's going in there, as my 2nd PC I think (the 1800's aren't fast enough as a main rig)

nice system!!!

OK, I have too many, and don;t want to post 50 pictures, so check my sig, but here is the main one:

Computer_room_left_wall.jpg

The SCSI array is in the cabinet under the desk, and the DLT drives are on the other SCSI channel in the case to the right.

Below are the other two main gaming computers, and the Solid ink Phaser 850 network printer is on the left. The mono 17ppm laser is on the right:

I think everyone's sick of my excessively-tidy Athlon64 / SCSI work rig by now (the photos show it from when it had an AthlonXP in it, btw) , so here's the flip side: mech's ghetto home systems

The one that's in use is TRASH (that's its name), and it's at least as messy inside as yours is! 😀 The big blue cable is the SCSI cable, the upper drive is my Cheetah X15-36LP, and the lower one is my crummy 7200.7 Snail Drive (not plugged in anymore, for some reason  ). Video is a genuine Radeon 7500, wooo

i always WANT to upgrade.

However, i need other more practical things also . .. food, transportation . . .

My Radeon Pro-256 flash went extremely well. I have a retail ATI card so i used the ati XT Bios. i guess the ati H/S is better than the Sapphire one (the HS gets very hot but the PCB is just very warm to the touch). My "XT" still runs pretty warm; 70C and up so the OVERDRIVE automatic O/C is limited to ~420Mhz . . .

. . . i am NOT going to try a 'permanent' o/c until i r&r the vga cooler; that Hynix 2.5ns memory is OVERkill for the card's rated specs . . . should be able to push it pretty hard

i messed up some of the before and after benchs but i am getting ~10% MORE performance (1 or 2 FPS in some games; LOTS better in the newer ones with the shaders). My Xt's 3Dmark is in line - ~16.5K in '01 and just under 6500 in '03.

It's pretty nice. Flash it with the latest BIOS and you'll be set. I can't get the on-board internal USB to work. Not the one that sticks out of the back panel, but the one you plug a port adapter into. It's never worked on any of the boards I've had (I've had 3 of these boards).

It doesn't really do anything awesome, and it doesn't have any huge faults. It seems like a solid board.

That's wierd. If I remember, I might try turning USB on and seeing if it works on mine.
