Some of the 'big-boys' on Shoutcast have servers hosted by AOL. On their nice OC-3/OC-12/OC-48 lines 🙂

The guy thats developing the shoutcast server software runs his off of a SUN Enterprise 250 running Solaris 7 with a gig of ram.. I think he said it has two optical network cards.. DROOL.. (how much are one of those cards worth?)

He needs to test the software under huge loads, so AOL, which Owns Nullsoft, whos developing shoutcast... gives him access to some big servers, and bandwidth.
