Sounds to me like this situation has all the makings of a wild west shoot out.

Private citizens such as the minute men and other concerned Americans will make their way down there only now they will be armed and start shooting.

If the the government is going to be impotent and not do anything about it the only thing left is for the people to protect themselves.

Those who say put the military on the border, would you also authorize them to use deadly force? If not, it really would be no different then having the border patrol on the border.

Yep. People cross the border because they know there are no consequences. I guarantee 30 or 40 headshots from 1/4 mile away will send a clear messege to those who think they want to cross illegally.

This video is hardly objective reporting (assuming there is a valid counter-point, I guess), but I have heard of this. It is happening. The US government is a fvcking joke for southern border security. It doesn't even give a damn, despite most of its population wanting it stepped up. This is why you have minutemen groups, which are completely valid, imo.

I haven't seen the videos of them clearly in the US, though.

An act of war - sort of like President Polk announcing the border had shifted far into Mexican lands and moving some troops to the new 'border' deep in Mexican territory, to provoke a war in which we 'defended' ourselves and took about half of Mexico? So, the Mexican military escorting drug smugglers across the modern borders into our country, and shooting at our countrymen, is somehow justified, or should be looked at in a different light, all because of some historical grievances with the way the lines were drawn!?!?

ABSOLUTELY! The Mexican forces are armed. That indicates (at least to me) that they are ready and willing to use deadly force...reply in kind.
Mark the border very plainly and so there is NO room for doubt when it is crossed. Set a line of defense at 1/4 mile north of that point, and make the territory inbetween a "no man's land" and any one who enters that space is subject to be fired upon.
Of course, they'll start flooding the are with women and children, and daring our troops to shoot them...and NO, I do NOT advocate shooting women and children. (unless they are armed) They will need to be rounded up as they cross, then returned to Mexico...preferably far, far from where they crossed.

There is a huge difference between illegals trying to get to this country for work and the Mexican army intruding to protect drug smugglers and the problem needs to be treated differently and with less deadly force...but it DOES need to be dealt with and stopped.
