Shouldn't my memory benchmark #'s be higher?

I got a P4 1.6aghz on an MSI sis645 ultra using kingston 256mb ddr pc2100. boot up POST screen shows it as SDRAM and so does sisoft sandra. so i ran the memory benchmark in sisoft sandra and i got around 1000mb/s. a buddy said i should be getting double that speed. i didn't really fiddle with my BIOS settings or anything and i dont plan to overclock either. but is there a setting in there that i need to turn on?
 
It is likley you are running a different version....

sandra 2002 switched memory scores and yes your system should have been around 1900-2000 without tweaking....however in earlier sandra versions scores would be more around 1000-1100...

the newer version does just about double the earlier versions number...I get 1400's with my 1.8@2.2ghz with my 400mhz ddr...with newer version it is around 2800's...
