Should'nt lifer status be awarded based on length of time (instead of soley on post count)

I always paid more attention to join date and quality of post vs post count. How many times someone posts seems rather irrelevant. I bet you could create a thread about waffles and just post random musings and be at lifer status in no time.

There's not a single forum on earth that would not be GREATLY improved by eliminating post counts and ranks entirely. Too much drivel posted by too many children who think their rank gives their sad little lives some meaning.

lol, think of it as a reward for achievements. i started lurking in 1999 due to hot deals forum. if you really care about the title, just spam more nonsense, it's too hard make in depth replies to every thread here and hit 10k. Nobody really cares anyways *shrugs*

I have heard stories about what happens in the lifer executive washroom...

This post is not to find out how many posts I have.

Edit: Great. More quality posts like this one and i'll make lifer in 2020.

I still have not decided yet on whether to tip the odometer over to 10K or to trash this account at 9999.

hmmm... well... I guess he's got a better shot for at least an infamous custom title than most members ;)

What if AT had achievements to unlock? ;)

- Started at least 10 threads
- Posted a helpful response in 3 non off-topic forums
- Has been a member for X years
- Be declared the "winner" of a thread
etc.

:p

Well, you've got my vote. Can we have quests also?

A quest is in the works as soon as I feel like I'm settled into my new place.

(Preliminary details at the end of that thread)

Quest activated ;)

We should have a lurker title like undead or something opposite to lifer? I am shooting for 2024 for my required posts.

Um...I always thought that whole online bulk beef thread was for that purpose. It got me 2 post closer. But at this rate, I'm gonna die before I'll ever see Lifer.

it denotes involvement w/ the forums as well. some guy that posted once back in 2000 sint much of a lifer

that makes sense, but some of us like to lurk and read and make the occasional remark as opposed to hundreds or thousands of posts every month.

Are you talking about me? Seems like your talking about me, (glances about about with a paranoid look on face). Damn need new tin foil for my hat! :D
