I you have an HD TV should you get the same brand DVD player

for instance my dad hot a mitsubishi HD TV, and he thinks that a Mitsubishi DVD progressive scan player is a good idea

does brand matching make a difference?

It just looks nice since most companies use the same design concept. I'm partial to RCA unless I can get a good deal on an equivalent piece of equipment...

Well, it makes matching remotes easier. No entering special codes every time you change the batteries. :)

don't have to buy the same brand at all.
but yeah, it does make life with remotes easier.
i have a pioneer 440 dvd player right now and i really like it..
they seem to get good feedback, pioneer optical devices.

I have about 4 remotes that all say they are universal, but none really are. If you want to use a lot of remotes then it does not matter what you buy. If you like having space on top of your coffee table, then stay within a brand. I have never seen any difference between DVD players except price, anywayz.

it doesnt matter what brand. but get a good brand player, with progressive scan. it is a HDTV after all. oh, dont forget component outputs from the dvd player.
