I think I should but in my early years I did not care and helped out people in the early days of the internet.
I only did 2 things that would have given me recognition but I at the time refused or was passive about wanting to be recognized but as I get older I think just acknowledging me for the contributions I have made to what
we call #AMERICA as in music, video or ideas.

What have you contributed to USA that should be known?

No lying now! Be truthful.

For sure, rich too, King of Earth, Ruler of Sol, Emperor of the Milkyway, Master of the Universe. I should be all these things.

I'm just a cog, same as 99.x% of the population. Most people could disappear, and it wouldn't affect the world in any tangible way.

I don't understand people's desire for fame or recognition. This past Spring, I got a group of neighbors together and we spent 2 weekends in a row cleaning up the totally trashed city park that connects to our neighborhood. Our city council member wanted to make a big deal about it and present us with an award at a city council meeting. A few of the neighbors went, but I didn't see the point. This was something WE wanted because the park makes our neighborhood look bad, and wasn't sponsored in any way by the city. Anyway, I was told by my neighbor that at the meeting they were asked about who organized the clean-up, and they told the council my name. I got a call from our council member the next evening and was asked when would I like to receive my award. I told him not to bother. He asked me why I didn't show up, and I told him I was in the middle of binge watching Orphan Black. I also told him that instead of handing out awards, he should have been chewing out the parks department for doing such a crappy job of keeping our parks clean. He sounded kind of pissed and hung up on me shortly afterwards.

The thing is, if there is something I want to do, I just do it. I don't really care about being in the news or receiving recognition from the city council. It's not like I'm ever going to get into politics or anything.

There is value in being a good Example. Might cause others to do the same.

There's a fine line between famous and infamous. As long as I have the one covered I don't care too much about the other.
