Should women pay half on a date, or treat half the time?

It just seems to me that women are really big on equality, but the women I've dated seem to think that the man should treat forever. I can understand the first few dates, but ALWAYS?

Some women (like my current gf) pays for pretty much half or everything. From my experience the more materialistic ones are the ones who expect the guy to always pay.

The girls I've dated have offered to pay sometimes. In general, if the activity is my idea, or my "thing", or out of their financial comfort zone, lor it's one of the first dates, I pay. After that we must both want to be there so we can both help pay.

So how come when I use this argument I'm told I'm not being romantic? Or that I'm not chivalrous?

One "argument" I'm given is that my paying is making up for that past injustices that women have borne. So I ask my girlfriend if, based on that principle, she always treats her black friends to lunch. I guess you know what her answer is.
 
if you're going steady, she should at least fight for the check sometimes (in this case, its your choice to give in or fight back). otherwise she's stuck up. pretty simple.
 
i always make them split it with me, i feel they are getting plenty out of it by having me drive them around and having to listen to their music while miles are added to my car and it burns my $1.75 gallon gas.

That's just flat out greedy.

If they want to argue that you're being less chivalrous than men of old, they need to be prepared to do the femine side of that. Women were supposed to invite their courting men over for elaborate home cooked meals, mysteriously "find" theater tickets that were "given" to them, or some such other nonsense, to balance it out and keep it equitable. Women who insist nowadays on the man paying without them doing anything in return are being greedy.
 
My girlfriend insists on paying half the time or splitting the bill. I wouldnt mind paying all/most the time but she wont have it. No complaints here!

(she is the first girl I met like this though)

she should offer to pay sometimes or else she is a selfish bitch, and not someone i'd wanna be around.
