Should we unify?

I realize that I may be burned at the stake for this, but it's just a thought.

Should we all unify our efforts? We've got a bunch of projects going on. We'd be able to dominate if we threw all of our power into one project.

What do you think?

What I generally do is find a project that needs some help and has some momentum and join it till it is #1 or stagnates. I would love it if TeAm Anandtech was #1 in all projects 😉

Well, I do F@H. We have 733 active processors. Team 2CPU has 1795. HardOCP has 4854. I don't know how many CPUs we have on the whole DC team has, but we seem too spread out.

No is the answer ,we all do what we want to do🙂

Ah, ok.

Sorry, I'm still new on the DC scene.

Hey, that's no worries 🙂 We were all new at one stage 🙂

I personally am glad that we all work on what we want to, and we do pretty well in multiple projects, rather than doing extremely well in one or two. It's not the bursts that make us good, it's the continued input and work done on the projects that keep us in the positions we are in 🙂

Projects like Taboo show that we can band together for a good cause. But one of the best aspects of the TeAm is that we can do what is fun for us. Wouldn't want to change that because it wouldn't be as much fun then, atleast not for me. 🙂

No need to apologise ,just letting ya know 🙂
Btw I gave you just a brief answer cos it was in the morning just before I was going to work😉

A lot of us do swap about ,myself I rarely do ,but in the past I've helped a little in Gamma Flux (RIP🙁) & RC5 64.More recently I did a little for DPAD but I shan't be doing anything much there until S@H1 finishes ,then I will switch over at least my main rig for some time🙂

Hey I think it's a great idea! Ya'll all unify over on d2ol and we wiil kick the cow out of first in a hurry
😀

What project is Taboo?

Yeah, people just kinda run what they want to run here, which IMHO is the best. If there were "higher ups" over the whole TeAm that tried to dictate that we all run one project or else, I suspect that most of the people who crunch for the TeAm in the "other" projects would get upset and leave. Of course, since I run F@H, and if a majority vote were taken SETI would be picked, I might be biased toward the each-to-his|her-own mentality. 😉

Here is a quote from GeoffS from an old thread:

"You have to keep in mind that people generally do a project that appeals to them for one reason or another and will generally fall into one of four categories:

They do a project for personal reasons,

They do a project for the stats,

They do a project because they just like the project,

They do any project that the TeAm needs them to do." unquote

How could I ask a teammate whose grandfather has Parkinsons or Alzhiemers Disease (F@H) to switch to a different project, etc. You get the idea.

I will say it would be kewl as hell if we just did one project and kicked some major ass but just as others have said everyone likes their own projects just as I usually only work on the health projects. We do have a rally team going though that just needs a few more users so we can jump to different projects to make a quick impact.

In the beginning there was only one project and that was a decryption of a message it was called rc5. even then we had a good team effort and was even #1 for a while until the cheaters moved in. All the projects you see here are great, their is something for everyone and that is what makes our team so great, it is diverse just like America, I could see it no other way.

Bleep
