Should we establish a prize?

Why would you want to beat it so fast? I think thats pretty dumb. Take the time to explore the levels, check out all the graphics, play around a bit, etc.

Hell, for $60.00 or so, whatever it costs after tax, I'd be spending 24 hours on each single level getting my money's worth.

I think Doom3 made me bitter about paying full price on a game that I havent heard from real players about. I'm going to wait a few weeks on this one. 🙁 Doom3 sucked and I paid nearly $60 for it. If I do get HL2 I'm gonna take my time as well. It seems like it would be a game at times you'll want to sit back and enjoy.

no kidding. I'm not gonna rush through it after waiting 4+ years for it to come out.

Why would we reward someone being a loser?

edit: sorta like the day that san andreas came out and people were bragging about reaching Las Venturas. Maybe I am alone in this opinion, but it doesnt make you look cool or impressive, it just shows you have too much free time

Doom 3 did not suck- it was great. It did however return to another era of gameplay, which you may or may not like.

Half-Life 2, not Halo 2.

OP

No, because if you try and run through the game as fast as possible I think you're missing the point here. You're supposed to enjoy it.

agreed. later after we've all played it through, it would be interesting to see how fast people can go through the levels (there was some site dedicated to this... had individual runs through each loading section/level from quake, quake 2, half life, and some other stuff). but now is the time to enjoy a game 6 years in the making to the fullest.
