I am on several Facebook gun groups, and according to them the answer is more guns in the schools. Train veterans and ex-military as guards, and place them in the classrooms. Many of these guys brag that they are their churches "trained protection" and they carry in church so they can defeat future bad guys. The problem with that is that we don't currently want to even pay the teachers a livable wage, much less find funds for arming and training teachers or veterans etc. We can't even afford pencils for public school kids, and parents can't or won't buy bullet-proof backpacks for their kids. What a fucking sad commentary about the US when other developed countries see how fucked up we really are. It is so true that whenever a bunch of kids are murdered in school, everyone rushes to defend the guns first. I'm so glad our kids are bravely on the front lines in our fight against tyranny and oppressive government over-reach.
